Poor Little Fellow

Wednesday we went to our toddler-parent class/playgroup. Jt enjoyed it, and afterwards tried to run down a hill, then stopped to smell the flowers. The next morning, however, he was burning up. So it turns out he has herpangina. It started with a high fever and general fussiness and lethargy. He also has little blisters in his mouth, so he chokes on the strawberries he was so enjoying before. (Too acidic.) Now he is still fussy, but at least he can play for a little while. Here he is cooking up something. Yes, he got a haircut Wednesday afternoon before he got sick! Posted by Picasa

Poor guy. :(

I had to look up herpangina because it sounds a lot like hand-foot-mouth. It seems that they are both coxsackie (sp?) viruses. BLT had that, but he was lucky and only got blisters on his hands and feet. His friend M had it when she was only about 8 months and was in a lot of pain and didn't eat much for a few days. Is JT able to eat? :(

Oh, his hair looks good!

The nurse said he may get the rash on his hands and feet, too, so it sounds like they weren't sure if it was just mouth or the hand-foot-mouth variety of the virus. But so far, nothing on his feet or hands. But he tried to drink some oj this morning, and that really hurt.
Did the blisters on BLT's hands and feet hurt alot? I got a (normal) blister from weeding the flower bed and it isn't too nice. ;)
I guess these is just one of those things babies get.
