Where did the time go this month? Mostly it was spent with trains. And we went to the circus. And we did more train things. And I graded some, and held many rough draft workshops and office hours, and I got my haircut (yesterday, photos another time), and had a fine needle aspiration (if they tell you it won't hurt, they are lying!!), waited for some results - benign, and I picked the books for my summer course, and JK went out of town for a week, and I drank lots of coffee and JT drank lots of chocolate milks and Jamba Juices, and what else? Ah yes, we went camping. With no reservations. Memorial Day weekend, nonetheless. But we got a spot at the first campground we stopped at, and even though the neighbor said that there was a 5 foot rattlesnack living under a little out building on our site, it was all good. The hoardes of campers, with things like kleg lights (!!) and three or more huge tents per site, were down below, and we got the tents and everything up early so that we could enjoy the campfire. JT prnounced the marshmallow, "good" but only wanted a little bite, but he did want to thread them on the skewer for us. He fell asleep in his papa's arms, under the stars, to the sound of crackling logs and an occasional scream from kids at the other campgrounds playing tricks on each other. And other than a racoon that attacked our trash (which we then placed in the trunk - duh!), there were no other animal incidents.
