Apples and Cakes

Did you know that after each birthday over the age of 30 you get more tired?
I am exhausted, and it is only Wednesday. Maybe it was the time change. It didn't help that this is the second Tuesday in a row of rain, which means that JT's playgroup was cancelled. No chatting with the other moms, no parachute with songs, music and dancing, and no bubbles in the park. I am not sure if JT was as disappointed as I was. If only it were Tuesday, then we could have gone to storytime at the MV library and eaten meatballs at (insert name of gigantic Swedish furniture store with blue and yellow sign).
Instead JT and I braved the rain and went for a walk so that JK could work from home without too much disturbance. We only made it halfway back before it started to pour, so we ducked under an awning. Luckily, rain in SD doesn't last too long, so we could wait it out. But we still needed to waste time, so we headed to (insert name of coffee-chain with green and white sign). Unfortunately, a block and a half away, the rain really started coming down. So I pushed on and splashed through the puddles. JT wasn't too wet, since I had the stroller top up and his legs were covered with a blanket, but I was soaked. Of course, the rain stopped shortly after we sat down with our lattes and muffins. (Okay, my latte, his muffin.)
Such is the wacky weather. JT and JK ate lunch on the porch while I went to the Y for swimming, and this evening JT wanted to model his little bed. He doesn't use it that often, but the cats find it quite comfy.

Is he sleeping with a banana?? I see one in his bed!

Too bad the playgroup got cancelled again. It's finally sunny today after a month of rain! I hope it's nice this weekend!

The weather was craptacular today here, too. Oy to the vey, as Girl's Gone Child says.

And playgroups, especially at this age, are for the mommies, not the kiddies. Which only makes them THAT MUCH MORE IMPORTANT.
