Exhaustion
Taking a three-year old to the dentist is not fun. Particularly when this three-year old is the slow-to-warm-up-nervous-anxious-type. Who puts his hand over his mouth when we walk in, then proceeds to scream and protest and has to be held down just so the dentist can get a look inside his mouth and apply a little fluoride. What fun. And we have to do this again in 6 months?
Luckily, we had a nice recovery time at the Wild Animal Park. (We combine trips - drop JK off at work and head a little north to the Park, pick him up after and go for dinner.) This is a poppy that looks oddly like an egg.
And this is Princess Jennifer. Posting that for you, J.
And amazingly enough, Mr. Scared of Anything New or Possibly a Tiny Bit Different wanted to ride the carousel - something he has refused to do for at least a year now. Maybe he is growing up, at his own pace.

Lovely shots of the the poppy and the cactus. Your boy sounds like a fascinating creature--you must be constantly amazed by him.
No cavities? I would call that a successful dentist trip.
LT has a cavity, but we didn't like the last dentsit, so we're waiting on a referral for a new dentist.
I'm impressed by your stamina - spending a whole day at the Wild Animal Park by yourself with a 3 year old!
i don't think i've ever been a princess... hmmm. i do like the egg-poppy though.
please let JT know that I'm off to the dentist myself on Monday - here's hoping that i don't have to be held down.
And I always thought the issue was a hair cut. They never show a kid going to the dentist on the movies. Note to self, write funny comedy, include part about kid @ dentist. JD
