Little Fixer

 
JT helped his papa put the child carrier on the "bi-cle". (It wasn't that chilly, but JT has a bit of a cold, so we bundled him up.)
He keeps growing up. Now he can locate his nose, ears, eyes, tongue, feet, hands, hair, head, belly button, sometimes his knees, and his pee-pee. To help interest him in the diaper change, I've shown him the little girls with bonnets on his quilt. "Maedchen" (girls), one through six. So far, he seems to be interested in looking at them and saying, "me-mi", which is similar to his word for music, "mee". He also seems to have taught his friend N to say "bidde-bidde-bidde" (we are working on "bitte" - please) and minyaminyame (which sometimes he uses to mean strawberries or I want, but mostly doesn't mean anything). He also says baby, night-night and today said "hi" to someone and not in reference to a cat! Those are most of his new words, but it does seem that he is copying what we say more often and trying out new combinations.

Hey - we are not-really-watching the spelling bee. So far they have had these german words: heiligenschein, austausch, kanone and weltschmerz. Maybe JT's Germlish will pay off if he decides to become a spelling bee-er. (Spelling in German is easy, however, so maybe it is not such an advantage.) Hey, the Canadian girl just missed "weltschmerz" - that is painful! And the other girl just won with "ursprache" - did the judges just happen to pick a page of german-origin words?
