Yesterday evening we went to La Jolla Shores for some sand castle building and jumping in the surf. What fun! The water was 65 degrees, which is about the temperature when you can actually swim. JT kept pointing out towards the waves for more. I had been concerned that maybe JT wasn't going to like the ocean, since he no longer likes to have his hair washed or water poured on his head. I mean, as a former-semi-serious swimmer, that would be a bit disappointing. But even if he isn't going to be an aqua-baby, he at least really, really enjoys playing in the water. We did go to three thermal baths and one swimming pool in Austria, after all!
(JK didn't realize that I had JT's suit along, so he just had fun in his regular clothes. Maybe next time we will all acutally put on suits.)
Today JT tried out a gymnastics program at the Y with his playgroup. He liked the trampoline and the balance beam, but the foam pit wasn't his cup of tea. I thought it was kind of smelly in there, too, and the foam blocks kept pulling my socks off.
