Or something like that. November is the month where you are supposed to blog, work on that unfinished great American novel, etc. every day.
So, I missed yesterday, and I have too much work to do every single day. But here goes for today. The prompt (loosely, I don't feel like looking it up) was: if today you were to eat your last meal, what would it be?
Well, it wouldn't be pork with sauerkraut and sweet potato puree. That was our dinner. It was pretty good. But then I ate a bunch of Halloween candy (no one else likes the butterfingers - they have to go somewhere!) and now my stomach hurts.
In fact, I can't even think of eating right now.
But the other day, I was dreaming of beef bourguignon. Maybe I will make it for Christmas dinner again.
Some kind of Mexican-ish dish might work as well. (This question would be much easier if I were hungry.)
And by the way, I just read this article about the man who heads the Neandertal genome-sequencing team and a leading Paleogeneticist and even though I already knew about his preliminary findings, I had not head about the Denisovans. So now I learned something new, and if you are curious, you can read about him. Basically, he sequenced (or still is, that part is still confusing) the Neandertal genome and discovered that the Neandertals interbred with archaic Homo sapiens and most of us living outside of Africa have about 4% Neeandertal genes. A comment in the article says he is interested in some genes thought to be related to Autistm - that perhaps Neandertals were not good at picking up social cues, which is one human trait that makes us very different than chimps and other apes. And that has nothing to do with food, so I should leave you poor reader(s) alone.
Good night!

i keep trying to read the whole Neanderthal article, apparently i have the gene for "fruit-fly attention span". there's just so much interesting stuff out there and then so many interesting intersections of all that stuff. ok, that was my erudite comment for the day! :)
I didn't know about this everyday thing... I better get started!
Butterfingers. Hmmm. We (and by "we", I mean the boys) didn't seem to get any butterfingers. I'd better check my baskets again.
