Almonst-5 is an interesting, sometimes trying age. JT loves to ask "Would you prefer to be x or y" - a pirate or a shark? - an orange or a banana? - a baby or an adult? and so on ad inf. He also likes to go, go, go, so we have to get out and do things even more so than before. If we are at home, he likes to mope around and ask to watch his movies (videos on the vcr) or play computer games (starfall or pbskids.org), but other times he will start playing with some other toys by himself for a while without prompting. (Usually he has to lie around on the floor claiming that he is bored and no one will play with him.) Yesterday he spontaneously put on a puppet show for Tiny.
We also decided to get a jump on the Christmas activities, and sprung for our Christmas presents:
Since we have friends coming into town who will want to visit Seaworld, we decided to go ahead and get our passes! JT, who has been asking to go for an entire year, was excited, but he also said afterward that he would have preferred going to the park. Sigh. He did have fun, but perhaps it wasn't as fun with just Mama and Tiny. (No arcade games, I wouldn't go on the kids playstructure with him, we didn't get anything to eat but instead had snacks from home...)
And we also got some trees! Three are in the ground, and three and a bird of paradise are awaiting their fates in their pots.
And this little guy sometimes eats bits of food - he has had sweet potatoes, bananas, pearsauce and applesauce. I think pears are the favorite so far.

Is that bouncy thing at seaworld? I thought at first you had bought a trampoline for a Christmas present, but then it looks tooo big.
So what does JT perfer? Shark or pirate? Orange or banana?
Happy Thanksgiving at your house!
JT appears to be trying everything and Tiny has such wide-dyed wonder at it all. The landscaping is moving along--ready for rain?
Love to all, gma/momsie
i too thought the trampoline was a christmas present. whoops! where would it fit with all the landscaping? happy turkey day weekend to you all (and omg, the self-cleaning over IS really cool - i feel silly to admit it but i used ours for the first time today)
Lucas says (about the Shamu picture):
