Anza-Borrego Dessert, Palm Canyon Campground.
If you get up early in the desert, you can see some neat cloud formations.
Even a few mammoths woke up to frolic around the desert later in the day.
Moving on to Julian (the town), we arrived to a flurry of activities and long lines - apparently it was Apple Fest or some such thing. And besides, it was Fall weather on a weekend, so many San Diegans gathered to taste the apple pies. We glanced around town but didn't see much out of the unusual except for a tiny "Oktoberfest", where the hungry ate hot dogs to the tunes of march music and an um-pah version of Do-Re-Mi. So we headed out to the outskirts of town for our annual apple-picking adventure. JT was quite excited and told us beforehand he would pick them all if the tree was only as tall as he was.
Then we headed onwards to the pie factory, where we waited at least 40 minutes for some slices of pie. Unfortunately, by the time we got to the front of the line, they were out of classic apple and cheddar cheese, but the apple-peach crumb, cherry-apple crumb and mountain berry-apple crumb were all eaten in a matter of minutes.

Wow, what a beautiful trip!
How fun to have your own pie company! ;)
Cheddar cheese and apple pie? I've never heard of that combination before, but I guess it would be worth a try. Sounds like a great trip!
Hey again, lol! Is blogger not sending my email with the comment? It should be in the field where it would usually say no-reply at blogger. Anyway, it's daisykins514@yahoo.com.
