More Chocolate...

If only every day were filled with chocolate!
Today while JT was re-adjusting to school, I was running around doing errands - waiting in line for a parking permit, depositing a check, taking an overdue book back to the library, picking up my paycheck (should have waited to go to the bank!), and also doing a bit of work at the coffee shop. I also found time to check out a washing machine at Sears. And then after picking up JT, we went and purchased it. (Purchased for our landlords, really.) So tomorrow it should arrive. I am excited - a front loader, small, compact, and stackable. (The dryer wasn't on sale, so the landlord will look for that another time - and theoretically our dryer is still working. The washer, on the other hand, was leaking everywhere.)
In other news, there were several articles about Islam in Europe in the NYTimes (France and Gt. Britain) and an article about the pope and Islam in the New Yorker. Quite apropos my upcoming conference. I am working on a short talk (the usual 15 minute conf. paper) about Islam in Austria and the implications for an "Anthropology of Islam."
Speaking of popes, we are planning a trip to Austria this summer. We will be residing smackdab in Haider-land, where a plethora of roadside shrines remind you to pray! Posted by Picasa
