After wandering around the desert for 40 days and 40 nights (well, less, but the biblical "40" is simply a convenient way of saying, "a while"), we have returned. We were not tempted by the devil, (that is another city in the desert, and we were in Phoenix), but JT did throw his hat into the rhino enclosure at the zoo, and I snuck in and out of the conference talks and remained unscathed after my own. (It was at 8:30 Sunday morning, so I had an audience of about 12 including the other panelists.) More to come soon...

Wow, what a big sandbox! Just look at Lawrence of Arabia's fearless adventuring! Glad the trip/talk went well. Hope all stays calm at the univ there-- what a sad day at va tech.
