We survived Spring Break with only a few meltdowns and a new hatred of teeth-brushing.
Speaking of things that drive parents crazy, today we went to an Easter egg hunt at the Y. There were several problems - the grass had been super-soaked the night or morning before, and although the 0-3 age group "hunt" was prepared, the kids were ready, they held up the start(waiting on a paid photographer). One little girl next to us was quite upset that she couldn't get the eggs, and lots of parental complaints were voiced. Finally they were off! Or maybe it was mostly the parents encouraging (?) the kids to get as many as possible. JK even joined in after he saw some kids with lots of eggs and put a few extra in JT's basket. Hmm, perhaps the egg hunt is all about getting as many eggs as possible? Encouraging our kids to push past others and be more successful - more = best?
I think JT liked it somewhat, but he was more excited about eating his sandwich on the playground in the little "clubhouse."
