How to Make an Elephant Pinata, the rest of the story

After JK finished with the newspaper mache, he let the balloon dry for two days. When asked what animal the pinata should be, JT insisted on having an elephant, so after much debate about how to make it look like an elephant, JK came up with a plan. He cut a trap door to add the goodies (m&m's, goldfish, whistles, little animals, stampers, rings, and stickers), made 2 holes to thread the string through, and then taped the door shut. Then he made a cone out of paper and attached it over the pointy end of the balloon, taped on the "trunk" of construction paper, and then wrapped a blue streamer around the body. He cut slots into the "body" to insert the ears, and viola! An elephant! (He made some legs, but I guess he liked the more abstract version and left them off.)
The kids loved the pinata! (However, they only were able to dent it, and the adults had to take things into their own hands and dump out the treats.)

The amazing power of books! Posted by Picasa
