Eat More Veggies - Salad

This is my sad attempt to take a picture of an endive-spinach (from the garden) salad. Tossed with goat cheese, balsamic vinegrette, walnuts, and roasted yellow peppers. Edible flower from garden (also known as weeds), as garnish. Yes, the picture is not that great, but it was the best of 4 attempts. Next time I will try for a better composition. (I need a tripod even for the point&shoot camera - here I was just using the table.)
By the way, why didn't anyone tell me to keep detailed notes on childcare expenses for my tax return? Now I have to wade through 11 bank statements. And why do I have to fill out this alternative tax thingee? And why does it say to fill out the entire tax return as if you don't owe it and then fill out another form to see if you do? Am I missing something?
No wonder most people don't do their own taxes.
Did I mention that twice I miscalculated on my taxes and the gov't noticed and refunded me the extra few dollars refund that I had mistakenly given to them. (Those were the days before e-taxes.) Wasn't that nice of those IRS folks?

Try TaxAct. Not fancy, but free (state and efile are not free, but still cheap). You can either do it online or download the software. Helps a lot with forms and AMT.

I was going to say TaxAct as well.

Don't try and do it on your own.

Even with TaxAct, we still had a bit of a headache.

You should be able to just ask your daycare/preschool/whatever for a yearly receipt. I'm sure they have to provide it for lots of parents.

Good luck!

Wait a minute. I didn't post that first comment. Tim must be posing as me again. :D

I thought it was the other Stephanie that used to post in your blog.

Ok, that's funny.

Good luck!
We were glad we had ours prepared last year. It turned out the overseas didn't make a difference, but doing the AMT took pages upon pages, and then it didn't make a difference either. And it is true about the school receipts--you will also need their tax number.
But the dish looks delicious. I am going to try something like that tonight, but with store salad. :-(

i used the other software - it made the amt thingy no worries (or so it said) - twas not entirely free, but infinitely better than trying to comprehend the irs. helps value non-cash charitable contributions too, which i always need - there's always something to give away here ... now who needs a cat?
