A More Sociable Firefighter

Well, the kiddo is becoming more sociable and less reserved. It still takes him a while to warm up to a new activity or situation, but he is eager to play with other kids, even if he doesn't know them. I have been trying to work with him to ask other children their names and if they want to play with him. Saturday we went to the "live steamers" (miniture trains you can ride) in Chula Vista, and there he befriended a boy a month older than himself. They were cute together. The other boy was chewing gum. Huh? When do kids normally learn to chew gum? Then we ended up at the mall, where apparently all of Chula Vista was Christmas shopping. He spotted the kids' section right before we left, so we ended up staying a bit longer, and he had so much fun playing with this little boy. They kept yelling, "Fire!" and the kiddo would pretend to drive the truck. He even asked the little boy his name, but I am not sure if he understood the answer. Still, they had great fun.
