One week of summer teaching over! JT has only a few more weeks of kindergarten. Mr. Burli had a nice round birthday, and the little guy turned 2. Whew, what a month. And two of my sisters have birthdays coming up, too. We are gearing up for Tiny's birthday BBQ Saturday. We have been trying to get the house in order. Some days it looked like this:
Luckily the dining room no longer looks like this:
Why yes, the fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher and range all fit in fine. (And yes, we will have to do this whole procedure AGAIN when we finally pick out our flooring.)
Last week we were treated to baseball tickets. We rode the bus - hopped on at the corner and got off right downtown. Very convenient. The kids had a great time - JT really got into it and was excited to catch a soft baseball souvenir. Next time he is hoping to get an actual ball.
This moth came to visit me the other night in the office. (Google tells me it is a white-lined sphinx.)
In the midst of his projects, Mr. Burli had another project - put together his new grill! Luckily he got it done so he could grill some steaks.
And we had a chocolate-orange mousse-cake. It was my first attempt at a mousse, and it turned out pretty tasty.
Tiny wanted pancakes for his birthday supper, so he helped me make some. He then opened presents and really liked his new playmat. He also loved the football and truck jammies JT picked out for him. I'll work on a real birthday post for him soon. And meanwhile...
The world's smallest bathroom is coming along! I spent over an hour tonight polishing the faceplates for the doorknobs. Then we tried to figure out where the hand towel and toilet paper would hang. And we need a window covering, too. I would have put in a roller blind from ikea, but as far as I know they still aren't selling them because the cords were a choking hazard. Bummer.

Oh shoot. I even forgot Tiny's birthday. Happy birthday Tiny and Papa! Yes, maybe he should check the mail twice at the end of this week.
