Helicopters, Pianos and Pools

We're back from out visit to my aunt and uncle in the central valley where we also met up with my sister, BLT Sr., and BLT himself (also known as "Ooo-2" in JT-ease). We had some adventures on the roaring river (well, the 4 youngish adults floated along in rafts down the river for several hours), the boys went swimming, JT enjoyed licks on the hand from Billy, a very large dog, and Bella, a very small dog, we ate some yummy food, then some more yummy food, did a strep test (me-negative), checked JT's ears (some fluid), and then got stuck in traffic at the grapvine, forcing us to take an hour break at a starbuck's.
JT and I are still trying to recover from our colds. I was very hoarse today, and he was cranky. It was also hot, hot, hot, and so JT was just cranky.
But we did make it to the Natural History Museum here in San Diego. JT really liked the dinosaurs, saying hi to them. Until we went to the basement and looked at their second dinosaur exhibit with dinosaurs from movies that move and roar. He wasn't too sure about that.
JT slso talked some about Ooo-2 today. I think he misses him and his auntie Janet.
It is interesting how kids can easily "make friends" at this age. They do their parallel playing, take toys from each other, follow each other around the room, want to parallel-potty-sit, and even give each other hugs. (An occasional shove or hit may cause tears, but the friendship usually recovers with a little "sorry.") Posted by Picasa

What a cute picture. Wish I could have joined you all for a day. Looking forward to that upcoming visit.

hope you guys are feeling better - i think i wish it was that easy to make new friends at my age, but there is that pesky grading curve to consider. now why does rafting on a lazy river sound familar? did we make that trip seventeen years ago?
