We've gone bananas and moved!

We were off-line for a while due to our move. It was a lot of work, and we still have to put the futon back together, unpack the office things, wait for a crossbeam for a new bookshelf from Ikea to arrive, reorganize our clothes into the closets, build some sort of kitty litter box containment system, etc.
JT seems to like it here. Today we walked to Claire de Lune, a local coffee shop, then to the park for some playground fun. Two daycare groups were there and the leader of one was blowing bubbles. JT enjoyed this and even clapped for the bubbles with no prompting from me. He now likes to eat bananas ("bah") all by himself and refuses to eat little pieces. He also likes to nibble on apples. You have to get them started for him though. Yesterday we went to the world famous San Diego Zoo, which is located in Balboa Park which is now 3 blocks from our house. We could probably walk through the park to the Zoo - if there weren't at least 2 canyons (=up and downhill) on the way. We may try it one day if I have enough energy. Yesterday we also went to the Farmer's Market here. It was pretty small, but lo and behold Johann's Austrian Bakery was represented. JK enjoyed chatting with the owner, who is from Graz. We ate an Austrian pretzel last night and some apple strudel for breakfast. We also won a bag of oranges in a little raffle. Just what we need now that we have our own orange tree in the backyard!
As we settle in, I will post some pictures of the house and the area. Posted by Picasa
