Life is funny when you are almost 1!
It is not so funny when you have 4 days to come up with a paper abstract for a paper that you could actually write in the next month. Good luck, me. (I imagine it is not always funny for JK either.)
Good news: the promised portable dishwasher has finally arrived (it turns out the cupboard wasn't deep enough to have one installed). Bad news: the aforementioned dishwasher needs a new gasket.
Other good news: the washing machine and dryer are working fine so JT is using his cloth diapers during the day. We are using organic dyed prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers. We also have a Bumkins cover, but I don't like the fit as well, it is still a little big.
Speaking of someone almost being one year old, JT hasn't vocalized any wishes, but here are some things that he might like for his birthday (if anyone needed ideas):
cloth diapers (He would like a few all-in-ones or pocket diapers, maybe Wonderoos, Happy Heiny's, or Fuzzi Buns in fun colors - JT is not a tighty-whitey type. He is about a size large in all of these, I am guessing he weighs around 21-22 pounds and is 31-32 inches tall, but we will find out at his next appointment at the pediatrician's. These diapers are pretty expensive, so I haven't bought any. They can be purchased on-line.)
little cars or trucks to push around
wooden and natural toys of various type
some size 18 month clothes for now and hopefully for the summer...
a Schoenhut piano (no, he doesn't really need this, but they are cute)

Do you find JT's cloth diapers fit under his pants? BLT had a big cloth diaper booty back when he was a baby. I think it bumped him up in clothing sizes faster. He was using mainly fitteds, though, which are pretty bulky. Perhaps prefolds are more trim?
Yes, his pants fit a little tighter and his onesies are now a little too short (plus the fact that he is tall). The pre-folds maybe are a little less bulky than the fitteds, but they do add some bulk in the front where I have them folded down (with an angel fold in the back). Somehow BLT sent his cold via the phone to JT, he is coughing and has a runny nose. :(
