Is This Blog On?

Where did the time go? I never even finished posting pictures from our summer vacation and now it is almost February. There have been times I felt like posting, but the job sometimes felt unsurmountable - just trying to find the pictures or get them from the phone to the computer... (too many semi-compatible devices with various storage issues) - not to mention trying to be witty or not-too-overly sentimental or some other thing. Being prone to procrastination, depression and perfection (ahem, genetics), I simply pushed it off. But I need to carry on! This blog is a record of our lives, since we no longer have photo albums on the shelf!
So without further delay, I will just jump back in with some pictures.

1. A boy and his cat. Alternate title: we had to transplant these apple trees to make room for the garage conversion project. I think I am giving them a 50% survival chance. Any birds nearby have less of a survival chance. (P.S. The leaves were scavenged from a neighbor. We go over right before their gardener comes to wipe away the evidence that they have a deciduous tree.)

 2. A boy and his bike. Just because it is cute.

3. Yum. Alternate title: Fluffy laid some eggs again (finally!). Toast (toasted in my new toaster! Thanks, Jenn!), smashed (I wanted to write "smooshed" but apparently that is not a word) avocado and some green onion with a "Fluffy" egg. Oh, and lime-ade courtesy of our lime tree.

3. Speaking of chickens and garages - in order to make room for that conversion (which apparently involves trenching along all sides of the garage) AND a free hot tub that someone has decided he needs, the chickens had to move out of their space. And thus they needed a new coop. Enter: Titanic 2: chicken edition. (A work in progress.)

5. Chickens! (Carmel and Thea are still on egg-laying hiatus.) At least the Pixie tangerines (which are hardly pixie size) are almost ready.

Okay, that is all for now from my phone pictures.

so you have to, ahem, "borrow" leaves from the neighbors? and cats grow in your trees? what a weird place you live - i should visit more often. although, you'd probably put me to work on the titanic 2?!
(i'm glad we got an update, with pictures)
