Summer Vacation: Austria, part 1

Summer is supposedly over when the kids go back to school, but here in Southern California, summer really heats up in August and September. The weather forcast calls for 100 degrees at our house this weekend. So summer is still here!
But 'summer vacation' is over. So where were we? Oh yes, the next part of summer was our biannual trip to Austria. Here is a pictorial overview of the first part, starting in Switzerland, driving through the mountains to Austria, stopping at the Oetztal for a visit to the spa (oops, no pictures) and the Oetzidorf, then on to a gold mine, a drive over the Grossglockner (Austria's highest mountain and a receding glacier)a garnet mine/museum (where we got to hammer some out of metamorphic rock), and of course I've included some food pictures!

More to come!
