"Tiny" had his birthday party nearly a month ago. I can't believe he is already 5. We moved into this house shortly before he was born and now he is hardly tiny anymore. (Well, he is rather thin since he is an even pickier eater than his older brother.) He is an interesting character. He loves writing and drawing and has creations and drawings everywhere. He mainly draws cats, the Titanic, ships and trains. All of the sudden he can read (I'm sure playing Minecraft helped him learn) and went from reading simple words to reading the milk carton seemingly overnight. I love how that happens. It is as if all of the sudden shapes of words (and less phonetics) suddenly become recognizable patterns. He also loves to act silly with his friends and play kitty pirates or some other games he and the other boys invent at preschool.
We had a little party at our house to celebrate. It was going to be a baseball theme, but the pinata store was out of baseball pinatas and busy papa did not have time to create one, so we brought home a HUGE orca. Tiny also had fun picking decorations at the party store, including a US flag tray to serve his snacks.
He made and filled the goody bags himself. Each was labelled with the person's name and contained a large pine cone from the park along with a piece of paper with the person's name on it and a drawing of them and a few other things from the party store. It was really sweet.
He was so exhausted that he fell asleep at dinner.
