Mr. Burli had to sacrifice some of his father's day to finish the compost bin. Its huge, but he made the sides removable. I still need to sand down the workbench-turned-gardenbench and repaint it and reconfigure it a bit to make it more useful.

Speaking of gardens, I am a haphazard gardener. I never manage to tame my tomatoes! This year I planted right before the baby was born and we never got around to caging them. The bed on the left houses two crowded tomato plants (one a red cherry, the other an orange. Both were started by my neighbor. The orange cherry seeds she saved from my tomatoes last year.) And a zucchini plant. The right bed has a volunteer tomato, some thyme and 2 okra plants.

For Father's day we grilled some salmon and had these lovely cupcakes for dessert. I used some raspberries for the glaze and the blueberries and mint were from our garden.

tomatoes sound delish! so--are the eyes blue or brown? asks this gma...
My tomatoes were growing way out of their cages last year so this year I have taken out all the suckers and trying to keep them under control. Now if they just start bearing I'll be pleased. We'll see what the results will be.
Yes this gtgma wonders too what color are the eyes.
I just came home from a band concert of tunes from World War II at the clock tower. James played in this band and it was a beautiful warm evening.Tomorrow is Trina's baby shower. Wish you were here too.
