Let's not dwell on the number of years but on the tasty cake. Actually, it was kind of dry. The boys ate all the strawberries in the afternoon so the chocolate yogurt cake, normally garnished with whipped cream and fresh berries, instead had a layer of sweet frosting and some sprinkles. It went well with our dinner - chicken of the sea (aka tuna steaks on the grill), grilled radicchio, white bean salad and noodles. I was thinking mashed potatoes, but when I pulled out the bag, they didn't look very appetizing. We need a root cellar! (Actually, I had a weird idea - we should open the kitchen floor and dig into the dirt below the crawlspace, sink a nice sized freezer in there and use that as a root cellar. Would that work? Somehow I don't think it is worth it to make a trap door there and the next owners of the house would surely not appreciate it. (I can imagine someone saying, "These last owners were just plain weird!")

I actually meant a cooler, not a freezer. Just something to keep foods dry, cool and protected from animals...
Happy birthday! You all look nice. Is that the new grey paint color?
Ah, how nice! See you all very soon!

Happy Birthday! I thought of you on your special day! It looks like life is good at your house! Those two little guys look like they enjoyed the day too! Love, AuntK
Cute pics of the boys and you. Hope you had a wonderful day!
happy birthday indeed! i have a little something for you, but it may be a few days before i find the right sized little box to pack it in.
p.s. who cares what the next people think? we found 28 gallons of water in a basement closet when we moved in (and this is not earthquake country).
