We had over 2 inches of rain last night. Hopefully enough to get my garden going (seeds planted include carrots, the three sisters, okra, dill, lettuce, some various flowers and cucumbers; we also put in a tomato and another type of cucumber seedlings) without washing all the seeds to the corners of the garden boxes.
This is a fragrant time of year here - the freesias are blooming like crazy (I need to pick up some more next time I hit the plant store), the sweet peas finally bloomed, the irises are huge (they hardly bloomed last year - thinning out must have helped), and the cherry and plum trees are flowering.
One more week of minimum days (which used to be called half-days) and then JT has 2 weeks of Spring Break. I imagine he will be bored after the first half hour...

minimum days? now i know what to call it when i just have to leave work early ... anyhow, i'm trying to decide what to attempt to grow here. the three sisters are corn, beans and pumpkin? maybe you should add a fourth sister, just for comic relief. :)
Such pretty flowers - I really like the title picture too! The only thing I have noticed here is the three inches of yellow dust covering everything!
