The Lego Cake

Tiny's sitter makes cakes - really delicious fancy cakes and she offered to make one for JT's birthday. It was a little hard to relinquish control (I had already thought about how to make a lego cake myself), but I did and the kids LOVED the cake. We had a small party Sunday - just 3 kids. The parents had the option of dropping the kids off, but it was nice that they stayed. I spent most of the time chatting with the 2 moms who came and Mr. Burli with the one dad that was there. We had pb&j and ham sandwiches (with 'those green leaves' that JT said his friend likes), some fruit, muffins, deviled eggs, chips, veggies and this delicious, rich, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting AND strawberries between the layers and the brightest fondant ever.

Setting up the lunch. (And a sneak preview of our new laundry area!) I had JT put some of his latest creations on display, and the kids loved the lego candies that you can really click together.

The homemade baseball piñata. I am not sure why he didn't request a lego piñata, but I was not privy to the piñata discussion. I only know that he ended up selecting a baseball because he was going to hit it with a baseball bat. Good logic skills!

liked the fondant lego man - seems much better to have someone else make that and just enjoy the fruits of their labor. :)
