Grandpa is here for a visit.
JT decided that this was the year he would start riding rides. He picked out several but decided on 'Mardi Gras' (one of those fun-house things) and the canoe ride. He wanted to ride a roller coaster (with papa) and do the fun house again and then look around the adult rides, but we were running behind schedule (due to a 2 hour traffic jam on the way to the fair), and needed to move on to the woodworking section, so those will have to wait. I was really amazed that he was so eager to ride the rides, and I loved how enthusiastic he was about the fun house - there was a slide at the end and he jumped off with a huge grin - it was super-ooper fast, he said, I want to go again!

Baby Sam had his first bottle. JT was a pro at feeding him.

And of course, the house projects continue... Mr. Burli is currently painting the kitchen, having already worked on his other project (the grand reveal of which should be in a week or so!), grandma is hemming a shirt for me, grandpa is resting on the couch, and I have snuck into the guest room to use the photo computer while nursing the baby. Speaking of whom, here he is getting his bath during which his hair started to come out. His forehead was peeling, and as the skin came away, so did some of the hair. Now he really looks like an old man.

We had a quiet 4th of July at home, seeing as we were all exhausted from our fair visit the day before. In the morning we went to the neighborhood children's parade - complete with a fire truck and a police car. The kids (maybe 25 of them along with assorted adults and pets) paraded down a street about a block and then back again to the front yard of a beautifully restored home from 1907 where the neighbors had congregated. Then we toured the local 'castle' for sale. In the evening, we grilled chicken and watched a few fireworks that were visible from our house. Oh, and Mr. Burli and I had our 9th anniversary on the 1st. But we both forgot about it. Oops. I am not good about those sort of things.

Belated Happy Anniversary!
Those years seem to go bye so quickly.

Happy Anniversary! Funny that the "castle" is just off of Al Capone Blvd. LOL Maybe that explains the strange mail you've been receiving??

Happy Anniversary!
Baby Sam is just the cutest. Love the picture of Grandpa holding him!
JT always looks so happy. What a joyful kid!
at least when you don't have a lot of regular updates, you come back with something great - those flowers, those kids, that grandpa ... and a castle in the neighborhood.
Belated Happy Anniversary a week late! What a lovely family and such fun activities. Sounds like you are getting more settled! Can't wait to see you! Love, AuntK
I just realized they are both wearing their dino-robot shirts!
LT is wearing his today. :)
