First, take a picture.
Try luring it into a bag with some lettuce. (Actually, mustard greens, which we had for dinner, sauteed with onions, garlic and finished with some sesame oil. Tasty.)
Once you realize that this will never work, call a friend. (Unfortunately, I got the answering machine.) Then, call in the back-up plan - the cat, since cats like to eat lizards. (Don't they? JT thought that dogs might like to eat them, too.)
Once said cat displays no skill whatsoever at catching the lizard and runs off to sleep somewhere else, try the towel-method. (Yes, I had to wake the cat up - I actually picked up his basket and brought it in the bathroom.)
1. Throw a towel on the lizard.
2. Use a broom to squish the towel a bit, but be careful not to squish the lizard!
3. Yell to son to open the front door and gently sweep the lizard-towel through the house and onto the porch. Viola!

Nicely done!
It doesn't look like a scary lizard, though. :)
Nice work on the skirt, too. I don't think I'll try that anytime soon. Sounded a little complicated.
Impressive mom-skills rise to the occasion--after exploring several interesting options, a successful conclusion with a little teamwork from the boy! Cute lizard if seen in the zoo reptile house or maybe in the wild, isn't it? If it had 8 legs, I don't think I could be so brave!
love, momsie
You were much braver than my granddaughters T & T who were visiting me in FL when we discovered we had a lizard in the sunroom. No help from T & T as they arose to the occasion on top of the furniture. After opening the door and attempting to shoo the critter in that direction, it went under the computer cabinet which I could not move. We were assisted by a neighbor fellow who saw all the commotion and came to our rescue.

Oh yuck. When we lived in Florida one of our cats would catch those things and then come running up to me with a bloody lizard hanging out of its mouth. Gross! Gross! Gross!
You should try watching the new 90210 again. It isn't bad really. Kelly has a 4 year old (called Sam), and Dylan is his father. They explained his absence by saying he was out of the country "being a do gooder."
I buy the DVDs when they come out, so I have rewatched seasons 1 through 4, but havent had an opportunity to buy season 5 yet. It is fun to watch the old ones though. LOL
(And you need an email address available in your profile! I always want to email you back.) :-)
